I have come a long way from Chamber Studios in Edinburgh..home of many Indie bands..and a large room with a pool table - essential when you are an aspiring musician ;) I used to record at the original studio in the Westfield area of the city and continued to record music when it moved to Granton…had many laughs with Jamie the owner and now have caught up with him on facebook so will need to go and visit him in the real world. I also did some pollen recordings at Chamber and wondering if the masters are still there with the new owner…again would be fun to find out now I am pursuing a solo stint. Well on the eve of my birthday..I find myself thinking about the future and about the cracking new song I have just written…rock and roll ;)
First gig under my own name - Sunday June 3rd in The Longhouse…lunchtime-ish with the wonderful Ady Powers by my side on slide guitar. Looking forward to playing as I have booked bands for the festival before but not played it myself. I will be playing some new tunes and some covers - Gillian Welch and Neil Young and maybe a wee Roberto Plant but we’ll see…gotta do 40 mins so will need a bit of help from some masters ;) Come and say hello…..
